Art Attack On Aids - Mixed Media by Keith Haring Framed Art print

Since the brutal murder of John Lennon in 1980, Haring became fascinated with creating figures featuring holes in their stomachs as a visual expression of grief, loss and emotional emptiness. He later developed this recurring motif to address the violence inflicted upon the bodies of people living with AIDS, as well as the profound grief experienced throughout the AIDS epidemic that devastated New York in the 1980s. In Art Attack on AIDS, the figures appear both violated and violating one another, creating a powerful and unsettling image of the suffering and interconnectedness caused by the epidemic.

Through his use of simplified forms and instantly recognisable symbols, Haring created a form of public art capable of communicating direct social and political messages to a broad audience. His work frequently addressed the injustices of his time, particularly the AIDS crisis, using a clear and accessible visual vocabulary. Art Attack on AIDS exemplifies this approach, functioning as a powerful piece of protest art whose imagery could be immediately understood and recognised by the masses.

The striking symbolism and bold graphic language of Art Attack on AIDS make it a compelling framed art print, bringing Haring’s socially engaged artistic vision into a contemporary interior.
